Diffusion in slowly modulated Hamiltonian systems
Abstract : We consider the diffusion in the space of the adiabatic invariants, when a parameter is slowly modulated. By using the neoadiabatic theory we introduce a time energy map which turns out to be the integrator of a quasi-hamiltonian syste, in order to study the evolution of the distribution function of the invariants.
We consider the case of 2 degrees of freedom systems and we study a model which is interesting for the application to accelerator Physics.
