Chaotic Advection in Three-point-vortex system
Abstract : Advection in the FLOW PRODUCED BY THREE MOVING POINT VORTIVES WITH IDENTICAL strength is analyzed in detail. Methods of chaotic dynamics are applied to find the border between regular and chaotic motion of the tracers, numerical simulations reveal various topological structures in the advection pattern in particular, strong stickness of the vortex cores was observed for some parameter values implications for the transport are briefly discussed.
