On the inverse problems in dynamics

Abstract: The problem of finding the forces which generate a given orbit or family of orbits has always been considered of prime importance in dynamics, in the Newton's time as well as at present. In fact, Book One of Newton's "Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica" (1686) is dominated by the idea of determining the force capable of generating given orbits.
