THE EQUINOX OF THE FK5 CATALOGUE AND ITS MOTION DETERMINED FROM MERIDIAN OBSERVATION OF THE MOON. Fomin V.A. Pulkovo observatory, RUSSIA The results of the detailed analysis of the 1923-1968 Washington meridian observations of the Moon do not discover any significant motion of the FK4 equinox that was introdused for the FK5 reference system. The polar motion can affect the results of analysis of the old series of meridian observation of the Moon covering the span multiple of 18 years. The Green- wich 1880-1922 meridian observation of the Moon are added for the analysis to investigate the problem.
